The Cottage

Rustico Fergino is a typically Italian family kitchen which has been converted into a holiday cottage. The spacious detached studio with a panoramic terrace, bathroom, kitchen, fireplace and pizza-oven offers a breath-taking view of the surrounding hills. The ‘big’ house boasts a swimming-pool which may be used by the occupants of the cottage.

Surroundings

Cerreto di Spoleto, in the south-east of Umbria, near the border with Le Marche, is one of the picturesque hill towns of Valnerina, the valley of the river Nera.

Many years ago we, Hans and Annemarie, a Dutch couple, fell in love with this area called Valnerina with its wild scenery, lovely hill towns basking in the summer sun, communal meals in the village squares in the cool of the night, concerts in medieval frescoed churches. Our home lies in the hills three miles from such a village, Cerreto di Spoleto.
